Community and the imaginalCollective: what does this look like?

When we consider the eternal question: “Why are we here?” whilst also looking at our current situation: a world full of inequality, division, poverty, wetiko and Earth Changes. I think we can say, with some degree of certainty, we are not here to do whatever it is we are currently doing! The imaginalCollective is looking to rethink our place on Earth and the place to start is community; we would appreciate your wisdom in building something new.

We’re supporting the creation of a global community of free thinking, compassionate human beings who share the courage to create a beautiful future today, for all the children’s tomorrows. There are many ways to change things but they normally fall into two categories: the reformers and the creators. Reformers take what is already there and improve on it and the creators start with a blank slate and build something brand new …we are inviting both reformers and creators.

This community will support a range of community types: from our online virtual community on our website (and the subgroups within this), to networking existing communities (both local and intentional) and both seeding and networking )i( intentional communities worldwide.

Global or Virtual community: This community is for everyone, from individual members to affiliated organisations, and forms the backbone of how we support individuals and groups (including local and intentional communities) connect and collaborate with one another regarding the co-creation of a beautiful future together. If you can’t find a subject you think is important please do let us know and we will add it. This section includes the imaginalMap – a powerful and inspiring tool that visually demonstrates that we (those who are passionate about people, planet and future generations) are many! The map is available to all our members, from concerned and passionate individuals to established groups, projects, organisations, local and intentional communities. It can also act as a springboard for bringing like-minded people together for initiatives and activities. The global/virtual community is the place where online-courses by the imaginalCollective and other affiliate organisations can be found.

Local Community: This area of our online community pages is to serve local communities. It’s a discussion area for geographically local communities to discuss and build activities and services to support the local community. The imaginalCollective works hard in its own local community providing healing, meditation classes, family events and we plan to expand these offerings. The idea is to help tighten and bring local communities together around the globe. Future plans include providing tools for communities to lower their carbon footprint with ideas such as tool sharing, car sharing, child minding and community growing.

Intentional Community: We plan to build an intentional community, perhaps several. This section of the website is both for designing these new communities and, for supporting connection and discussion between existing intentional communities world-wide. Regarding our own )i( intentional communities, we are starting from scratch and imagining what communities of the future will look like without fossil fuels whilst being completely self-sufficient. The imaginalCollective will hold the discussion and aspects such as community cohesion, structure and organization …whereas other skills, such as building, water management, growing and a myriad of other considerations will be provided by those who already hold these skill-sets and resonate with the core values and vision of the imaginalCollective. This will be a place where the already emerging next phase of humanity’s evolution can be supported whilst providing a potential safety net regarding worst-case scenarios and the full fury of Earth Changes.
